A competition for primary school children will become "experts" in safety and health (29/09/2009)

Will see and learn about risks to their safety, including falls, toxic chemicals, fire, explosion, asphyxiation or burns

This form is to instill the need to assess risks to health and safety in all walks of life, mainly in their own environment

Before addressing the risks are best avoided and, as previously spread this philosophy, and prevention is becoming a habit of life, better results and less insecurities will be faced.

That's why more than 32,500 students in grades 5 and 6 primary school of the 471 schools in the region, aged between 10 and 12, will become the protagonists of the "Growing in security", launched today by the Chief Executive Education, Training and Employment, Sotoca Constantine, and the President of the Federation of Municipalities of the Region and Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara.

The initiative, organized by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and the municipalities of the region, this course will run until March.

Students attend lectures on issues affecting their security, such as falls, burns, toxic chemicals, electrical hazards, bumps and shock, cuts and wounds, fires and explosions, asphyxia and respiratory obstruction, among others.

The topics will be presented by specialists in occupational hazards, those exercises will focus on detection of these risks at school, home, streets and recreation areas.

After the talks, students will participate in a drawing competition in which reflect the knowledge they have acquired.

The aim of the campaign is that prevention is taken into account as an asset and create a habit of preventive life from young, so that when they become workers or entrepreneurs have rooted knowledge.
