Booming Miguel Francisco Hernández, art student, was the winner of the Short Story Competition IV Thader-University of Murcia, whose awards were presented today at the Rectorate of the educational institution.
This student, who study this course at the University of Valenciennes and Hainaut-Cambresis (France) received 9,000 euros which is equipped with first prize for a story entitled "Old Loves."
The second prize of 4,000 euros, went to Patricia Vives Martinez, a student of English to enjoy an Erasmus scholarship at the University of Leeds (United Kingdom).
Tamara Moreno Parra, a student of Medicine and the arrival at the University of La Sapienza of Rome (Italy), and Clara Oliva Martínez-Delgado, and bound Philology at the University of Florence (Italy), took third and fourth prize , between 3,000 and 2,000 euros respectively.
Short story contest Thader-University of Murcia is designed to assist university participating in the Erasmus exchange program, and to promote literary activity among them.
This year, the participation has doubled the previous year, reaching 40 percent of all students selected as an Erasmus student.
The rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, highlighted in the ceremony, the value of a prize, while encouraging mobility of students, encourages creative writing.
Also participated in the event and Nerea Fernández Ricardo Fernández, representatives of Metrovacesa and Thader Mall, the latter entity sponsoring the contest.
Also attended by the rector Maria Angeles Esteban and Maribel Sanchez-Mora and members of the jury, among which were Councilman Celebrations and Popular Culture of the Municipality of Murcia, Rafael Gomez.
