The best poker hands are reunited in the Gran Casino Murcia (21/09/2009)

The Grand Casino Rincón de Pepe Murcia hosts from next Thursday 24 September, the eighth stage IV of Spain Championship Poker (CEP), which will bring together the best national players of poker.

The grand final is getting closer so it's a crucial tournament for players to join points of view to achieving the national championship later this year.

But scoring points in the overall ranking of the CEP is not the only incentive for players, it can also bagged major awards based on their ranking in this tournament.

The registration fee is 660 euros, although players can also qualify via online satellites and freerolls free EuroSuperPoker organized, consisting of qualifiers with a purchase price well below the main event.

The Gran Casino Murcia is located in the historic city center, a privileged place for its Mediterranean climate and environment in which players can test their skills with the cards, as well as enjoying the attractions of this area .

In the last edition, this stage of CEP recorded a full house to cover the 120 seats offered by the Casino.

The winner was the Italian Alfredo Moretti, Tenerife resident for twelve years, who pocketed a prize of 22,612 euros.

At present, the classification is led by Noel Pratt with 38 points, followed closely by Bruno Ortuño, 36, and Rodrigo Martin, 33.

It was not until Sunday 27th September to see who gets the CEP de Murcia and see if there are changes in the general ranking, which has been changing throughout the tournament, for any of the participants can be kept an ace up sleeve and turn it over to the classification.

Championship Structure

The tournament will be played in 4 days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday), targeting the first-Thursday 24 September, to celebrate the supersatélite to qualify for the main event.

On Friday 25 and Saturday 26 will play the main event, while Sunday will be held September 27 in the final.

One of the most important improvements of the CEP 2009 lies in increasing the initial stack of players, going from 10,000 to 15,000 points, maintaining the same levels and times in the 2008 edition.

This change is to extend the games, an incentive for participants, since for the same price during registration can enjoy more time playing poker.

Another novelty introduced in 2009 is that the casinos have more freedom to organize side events and qualifying satellites for the championship for him.

The only condition imposed on the casinos is the registration fee for the main event, set at 660 euros for this edition.

As in previous years, will be allocated 4% of the total proceeds of entries in each of the major tournaments for a general ranking, to be divided among the 10 best players in the last tournament to be held in December in the Casino de Villajoyosa (Alicante).

Thus, 10 participants with the highest score at the end of the year will receive a proportionate share of the proceeds according to their position in the ranking, the former accounting for 35% of the total.

Game mode

The poker is attracting a growing interest in Spain and each time with more professional players.

Therefore, the best Spanish casinos organized since 2006 Spain Championship of Poker, with a league format of points that does not require players to participate in all tournaments.

The games are held in the form of Poker No Limit Texas Hold'em (a player can bring into play all their points in one round), which is the most widespread form of poker in the world and which are played most international tournaments.
