The Socialist Group in plenary session will require the construction of sidewalks, bike lanes and the elimination of architectural barriers in Ronda Sur (20/09/2009)

Socialist Councilman Jose Zapata will present an initiative in Parliament next Thursday to demand that the PP municipal building sidewalks and bike lanes, and the removal of architectural barriers in Ronda Sur.

Neighbours Patiño, Santiago El Mayor, El Progreso, Infante Don Juan Manuel and Ronda Sur has become a regrettable accident risk and insecurity of the road for disabled people, pedestrians and cyclists who run through the area.

In the press release issued by the government team last March, the City Council informed on this project, and a lane in each direction, including two external sidewalks of 1.80 m each, two interior sidewalks 0 , 50 meters each, and the removal of architectural barriers in all affected sidewalks along the path Ronda Sur.

"Deception"

Following public complaint made in this regard by the Socialist Group on 11 September (the works of the southern ring were given for completion without sidewalks, bike lanes and without any existing architectural barriers removed, despite being included in the draft, before the media, by the head of Infrastructure, José Arce), Zapata stresses that "the municipal PP has changed the press release made public last March and sidewalks where it appeared the word has been replaced by roadside ".

It is outrageous, says the mayor of the PSOE, which is thus deceive the citizens and, after spending over 230 million pesetas in a project initially brought together a number of prerequisites for the safety of people, it remains the same and now trying to justify his mistake by deception.

Therefore, the PP requires municipal Zapata more thorough and accurate, with projects announced with great fanfare, and greater responsiveness to citizens, especially when it comes to matters affecting their security.

"That put less excuses and meet the need of the municipality and the residents have the right to live in a city without risk of abuse," concludes.
