More than 200 people have participated in the 4 / 40 during the first half of year (19/09/2009)

More than 200 residents of the municipality participated in the program 4 / 40 of the Department of Health, which runs Fulgencio Cervantes, and the Federation of Neighbourhood Associations of the Municipality of Murcia, in the first half of this year.

This activity is to keep company with 40 minutes, four days a week under the supervision of a monitor who heads the group.

The initiative was launched in September last year with a tour of the Paseo del Malecon, and this year joined Churra routes, Santiago and Zaraíche, Casillas, San Andres and Fleet.

On Monday, September 21, after 20 hours the activity starts again on the Malecon.

All other routes will be added as they're forming groups.

The Federation is studying the possibility of creating more routes in other districts.

The purpose of this activity is for residents to improve their health, reduce heart disease, reduce high blood pressure, cholesterol, obesity, overweight, increase flexibility, improve bone-related diseases, diabetes and status encouragement.

The Federation of Residents Associations in the Municipality of Murcia has taken courses to train instructors accompanying the group to guide the participants at the time of exercise and stretching.
