Four young men from El Palmar, winners of World Cup U-19-Mesa (18/09/2009)

• The City has been funding the practice of these sports through Social Services since 1009

Four young men from El Palmar, aged between 16 and 18 (three from the Barrio de Los Rosales) won for the third consecutive year, the World Cup U-19-Mesa teams.

The championship final was held in Rotterdam (Holland) last weekend, 5 and 6 September.

The final result of their differences to Germany was a 2-1, overcoming an unfavorable score of 0-1 against in the last minute with 2 goals "in extremis".

Social Project

Murcia City Council, through the Department of Health and Human Services, which runs Fulgencio Cervantes, has been funding activities of Community interest, which include several projects aimed at children and young people, specifically the Municipal Centre of Social Services "Murcia Sur" is developing within their projects a football-table workshop offered by the Federation of Murcia table football players since 1996 in the Barrio de los Rosales, in the hamlet of El Palmar.

This workshop is established in time for the permanence of children in this activity, the addition of new children and youth annually and produced the highly motivated in part by the projection of the activity outside the district through regional tournaments, global and domestic are carried out.

Social Services Center "Murcia Sur", as positive development of such projects, considering education as leisure time, as these workshops provide intellectual enrichment of children and youth, and that provides a space where new generations communicate, relate to other social contexts, learn, play and have fun and they are the protagonists of their actions.

Victorias harvested

The previous victories were consummated in Nantes (France, 2007) and Vienna (Austria, 2008) ever Under-19 category.

The teams defeated in this year of 2009 were Germany (runner) and Belgium (third).

Both have many more economic and competitive level of organization.

The list of achievements of these young people is overwhelming.

Both Juan Manuel Noguera and José Antonio Gómez Ros, both have been finalists in previous editions of the World Championship.

Juan Manuel Noguera was junior world champion 2005, has been champion of Spain in 2007 and 2008 editions in the Under-19 and José Antonio Gómez Ros was runner-up in Spain 2007 in the Under-19 semi-finalist in the 2008 .

In this edition of 2009 have reached the semifinals.

While Saura and Pedro Ortín Lucas Iván Romera, the latter being the first call of attendance, have consolidated their contribution in team play, a historical selection.
