Culture retrieves the pictorial heritage of the Casino de Murcia before his next start (17/09/2009)

The Director of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón today presented six paintings to the president of the Casino de Murcia, Juan Antonio Mejias, who have been operated by the Center for Restoration of the Region of Murcia.

There are six large works dating from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, most notably the work of Germain Amores Hernández López and Manuel chop.

In addition, three paintings have been exhibited most belonging to the estate of the Casino and have also been recovered by the Centre for Restoration.

Intervention with a budget of 30,000 euros has been to correct deformities, chemical and mechanical cleaning, place a new frame, stuccoed and sealing of gaps, and chromatic reintegration final varnishing.

The conservation status of the works presented numerous repainting and dirt, as well as deficiencies in the tissues and media.

Therefore, Ujaldón Enrique was pleased to contribute to the recovery of the assets of such emblematic building as the Casino de Murcia.

The large canvases dating back to 1982 for the Billiards Hall of the Casino and have a varied subject matter ranging from allegory, such as 'Love chained to the world' by Germain Hernández Amores or 'allegory to the game' by Joaquin Agrasot until literary affair as "Drinkers of the seventeenth century 'attributed to Federico Mauricio Ramos or" Idyll in Venice' of Henry Blay.

Furthermore, the portrait is popular with 'Grape' Manuel Picolo y 'Fisher' by Manuel Arroyo.

Today also been exposed to works from the Collection of the Casino de Murcia and recovered recently by the Center for Food as 'flower basket' of 1909 by Pedro Sanchez Picazo, 'Interior of a study of a painter', 1892 Juan Gil Montejano and 'A model' Obdulio 1892 by Miralles Serrano.
