The Asian sculpture of a head, the gift to be delivered to the program of the Fair (28/08/2009)

The sculpture of an Asian head by María Dolores Fernández Arcas has been the entry chosen by the City Council to give away to Murcia with the Fair program.

The sculptor was inspired by the striking and colorful International Folklore Festival in the Mediterranean to the unique design of this piece.

The round face of the sculpture, slanted eyes, his headdress and exotic dress remind participants of the International Folklore Festival in the Mediterranean.

The piece has been made to the city of Murcia with a limited edition of 4,000 copies.

The small sculpture is made of polyester resin, although finishing the final appearance is of terra cotta.

Has been performed by an artisan in Murcia in the workshops of 'Andy' and ceramics 'the hawk'.

This sculpture is the last of the cycle that opened the ball of the sculptor Child Molera and continued last year, the Chopper Antonio Campillo.

They are sculptures by renowned artists inspired by various aspects of the Fair of Murcia as the fairground, in the case of the sculpture of Boy with Ball, the Bullfighting Festival, with the chopper and the Festival of Folklore in the Mediterranean the head Asian Maria Dolores Fernandez Arcas.

The aim is that people collect and preserve these small works of art.

The sculptor Maria Dolores Fernandez Arcas is a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Santa Maria de la Arrixaca are countless works of this artist in the region as the sculpture of Santa Eulalia in Totana, the monument to the Jewish people in Lorca, the monument to the embroiderers in Lorca and Totana monument of the Nazarene, and many others.
