The recycling tram works sidewalks to "save" the natural environment of arid 3,000 cubic meters (20/08/2009)

The tram will not only be environmentally friendly when it becomes operational.

Also in construction has opted to use ecological criteria with the reuse of materials

The trams in Murcia will not only be a means of sustainable transport from the moment of entry into work, but also from its inception.

From the initial stages, the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, given appropriate guidelines in order to instill a strong ecological character of the project.

Attention to the environment that will be present at the entry into service of the tram, which produces 0 emissions of CO2, but also from the construction process.

This sustainable approach can be seen, for example in the use of 20,000 square meters of sidewalks that need to be demolished.

In doing so, is ground to transform the material into gravel, which saves about 3,000 cubic meters of aggregate that, under normal circumstances, would be obtained from the wild.

Thus, interest paid special attention to environmental causes that are reused all the materials used where possible.

The measure affects a particular way, the use of cobblestone sidewalks and curbs in areas that have been renovated in recent years.

This is a more laborious process than the simple removal and replacement with new materials, since in this case, it is necessary to carefully remove existing materials collected in designated areas and then put in new sidewalks or islands.

Despite the drawbacks, it is the system used by the concessionaire and the joint venture formed by FCC Construction COMSA.

In addition the Council made some changes to improve the urban integration of the tram route of Juan de Borbon to maintain the existing trees and landscaping while respecting the capacity of the main road Ave.

The end result will be an avenue redeveloped to keep the existing parking spaces and will have three main lanes in each direction from management.

Three areas of work

When we celebrate the month since the start of construction of Tram Line 1, the progress of the work is on schedule stipulated in the work program.

There are three work areas open simultaneously, which are clearly marked:

Progress will continue in coming weeks to Churra hits and Cabeza de Torres.

2 - Around the ring road at the University of Murcia with restoration work on sidewalks and improving and adapting the bike lane inside the ring.

3 - In the further development of the North Coast in Guadeloupe where they have begun the demolition of the existing service road where it will locate the tram platform.

Once it completes the replacement of sidewalks and service side, it will occupy the middle of the road where you will install the platform which runs the tram.

The next area that is planned to undertake in a few weeks will be located in Avenida Juan Carlos I from the experimental stage and the hamlet of Espinardo.

At all times, is proceeding with the intent to cause the least impact and minimize inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians.

Yet it would not have been necessary cuts have enabled traffic and access to garages and bus stops.
