Prune palm trees of La Glorieta (20/08/2009)

A team from Parks and Gardens, consisting of three workers and a palmerero, has begun this morning to trim the palm trees that are at the Square, to remove leaves and perform maintenance.

These works are performed in summer in order to disturb the least possible pedestrians.

These specimens have more than 50 years.

In the gardens and green areas of the municipality are planted about 2,000 palm species Datylefera Phoenix.

In addition, the Department of Environment and Urban Quality tagetes being planted both in the Plaza Circular and in the garden of the Malecon.

We have chosen this plant to be a species that can really hold the heat.
