The City ensures measurements phone antennas (29/07/2009)

More peace and security for residents is the goal of two complementary actions to the new Ordinance Mobile Telephony, which has given the green light today by the Governing Board.

At today's meeting has approved the provisional award of the procurement of 24 hours monitoring service levels of electromagnetic fields in places in the municipality of Murcia, the company Insotec IB, SL, in the amount of 19,650 euros and to the realization of a regular campaign of measurements of levels of electromagnetic fields in the municipality places the company SLNE Engineering Issues in 25,264 euros.

These contracts are derived from the adoption of Mobile Ordinance, which ensures more information to citizens and streamline procedures for obtaining an appropriate license.

The new rule provides that the Corporation take concrete action to promote public information on the emission of radio infrastructure installed in the municipal and other issues related to its effects on health or the environment and the resources that can encourage promote peace and security.

Hence the need to implement these two complementary actions to ensure the tranquility of the neighbors.

Thanks to these measures are conducive to the neighbors information about the influence of these antennas, as stated in the ordinance recently adopted by the Planning Department.

The ordinance of 'Installation and operation of radio infrastructure', ensures that citizens are better informed regarding mobile phone masts, while speeding up legal procedures for installation.

The text of the new law was ratified by the three political groups and the ordinance did not receive allegations.

Before the introduction of satellite, operators have to submit to the City an implementation plan, which must receive the municipal approval and subsequently may be modified and adapted to current realities.

Urbanism has coordinated for a year a working group that participated in the Spanish Federation of Municipalities, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, REDTEL political and civic groups in order to make the new ordinance.
