The PSOE "get" an agreement of the plenary for implementation of the conclusions of the Law Council on the hiring of Terra Natura (23/07/2009)

The Socialist councilor Alfonso Navarro has defended today in plenary a motion urging the City of Murcia to abide by the contents of the report of the legal body in the public interest and in accordance with the law

Note from PSOE:

The Socialist Party councilor Alfonso Navarro defended a motion today demanding that the PP Plenum abide by the contents of the report of the Law Council of Murcia on amendments to the Terra Natura contract for the exclusive benefit of the public interest and in accordance with legality.

With that motion, the PSOE has obtained the commitment of the PP in La Glorieta, with full agreement, to meet each and every one of the conclusions in the report of the legal body.

What a waste

Navarro points out that the Judicial Council last month issued a report unfavorable to the contract amendment Terra Natura and the PP mayor José Ros intend to carry forward, and that is a deviation of more than 10 million euros over the initial contract an increase of 87.3 percent

This amendment, he continues, is a deviation of more than 10 million euros, an increase of 87.3 percent, taking into account the amount specified in the contract award was EUR 11,600,000 and the proposal in that amendment rises to 21,736,343 euros.

In this sense, the PSOE mayor also recalled that the Legal Counsel reported negatively about another point of the amendment to the contract given by the PP and that the company would charge the City fixed 3 million euros a year, plus increases annual CPI increase the subsidy of 343,279 euros to 3 million euros, representing an increase of over 900%.

Conclusions of the report

The first of the conclusions reached by the Judicial Council to issue an unfavorable report is mainly based on the illegality of the reasons given by the City Council to amend the contract was initially signed with Terra Natura.

In the latter approaches, the legal body suggested the Consistory the cancellation or withdrawal of the said contract amendment calling on the third point, that if the City Council finally decided to go ahead with this decision, it should be done taking into account other parameters are less harmful to public interests.

For Navarro, the opinion of the Law Council confirms the approach "preposterous and scandalous" the new contract proposed by the mayor Ros to Terra Natura and the great economic damage, proceeding, would be for Murcia.
