The painter José María Falgas Murcia is the author of two new pictures that have just been added to the Gallery of Regents of the University of Murcia, which it is complete.
The portraits by Falgas correspond to the first two presidents of this institution, and Vicente Andrés Almansa Baquero Llovera Codorniu, royal commissioners were the same.
The author of the portraits during a visit to the Gallery of Presidents, which is headquartered in the building of Convalescence, said the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, details of their work.
With these portraits complete a prominent chapter in the history of the University of Murcia, as Baquero was a key figure in the achievement of this institution, and it should be the central speech act of the inauguration of the Regional University of Murcia, in 1915.
Three months later, his death, he was appointed regional commissioner Vincent Rainville, former president of the Diputación Provincial de Murcia, who will head the university between January 1916 and April 1918.
The portraits by Falgas correspond to two very different eras of the artist from Murcia, and that while the de Baquero was expressly made far, the Llovera did in 1977 for the gallery of presidents of the Provincial Government and has been transferred to the University for Autonomous Community.
