"We extract the best people to listen, negotiate and resolve", as stated by the expert in Civil Law and Dean of Law, UCAM, Francisco de la Torre, during the ongoing 'family mediation: the legal instrument in conflict resolution , held this week as part of the Summer University.
Experts in family mediation, Francisco López, Luis Carlos Cuesta and Francisco de la Torre, analyzed the causes of family conflict triggers and mechanisms for preventing and solving them, from the point of view jurídicoextrajudicial, legal, judicial and psychological.
Francisco de la Torre, was pleased by the good reception given by the students in this activity, aimed at the resolution of conflicts within the family, and highlighted the remarkable progress in the area of mediation through the Alternative Dispute Resolution European movement (ADR) focused on the judicial settlement of conflicts.
"The mechanisms of conflict resolution rather than by conciliation or arbitration, are committed to mediation as a vehicle to achieve a more direct justice that effectively meets the needs of citizens in the family, it is in the within the family which generate conflict and demand solutions. "
De la Torre lamented the unfortunate recent application of certain legal reforms that have contributed to increased conflict within the family.
The lawyer stressed the importance of appropriate mediation mechanisms in the judicial and constitutional framework, national and regional level, and welcomed the reforms to be carried out soon in this area, concentrated in the Organic Law of Judicial Power, Civil Procedure Act, legislation to reform the Judicial Office.
De la Torre also stressed the imminent adoption of a Law on Mediation for the Region of Murcia.
