Murcia City Council has launched a new website to provide people with information about all resources available to them to raise their standard of living.
Through this website (www.murcia.es / disability) users can learn first hand all the specific resources at their disposal, with information from 53 organizations dedicated to its attention.
The City of Murcia, through various councils, promotes actions to face the group of people with disabilities enjoy the same opportunities as other citizens.
On the other hand, foundations and federations of people with disabilities along with their associations to pursue a sustained effort to achieve full social integration and rights which are their own, in order to improve their quality of life.
The Department of Social Welfare, created in 2003 a Working Group on Disability, in order to more effectively meet their demands.
In this workshop arose the proposal to establish a municipal website on Disability.
The City of Murcia, picking up this proposal, created this website as a place of information for people with disabilities, on the one hand, and communication and sharing of resources among associations, on the other.
Working Table on Disability is initially composed of 45 organizations representing people with disabilities to move to be made up to this day for a total of 52 entities.
Through it fosters a close relationship between the city of Murcia and the various entities of Disabled Persons, to keep closely monitoring their activities and make a more effective collection of their demands.
The objectives of the Bureau are:
- To establish stable communication channels between the city of Murcia, through its council, and all other Associations, Foundations and Associations of Disabled Persons in the Municipality.
- Coordinate the work of each Department on Disability, in order to achieve a common goal: raising the quality of life of the disabled people in all areas of family, work, social, transportation, accessibility, entertainment, sport , health, housing, etc.
As a result of work done in the Bureau through the creation of various committees, one of them comes the need to create a means for coordinating across a website that allowed disseminate necessary information to all entities that were part of Bureau of Labor.
For all these reasons and after work, last June 19 was officially launched at the assembly hall of the City Annex Building of the web Municipal Murcia on Disability of the City of Murcia to the constituent units of the Bureau of Labor Disability.
