NO THANKS.

Men in thong, women showing their breasts, drag queens impossible platforms and waste of feathers ... this is the image everyone has of "gay pride", although the majority of lesbians and gays are not like that and we represented by this carnival.

Therefore, from colleagues did not want to organize a parade in our region to perpetuate stereotypes about homosexuals.

With these words he addressed Johan Girón Rizo, President COLLEAGUE MURCIA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Murcia) to the heads of the different public administrations in the Murcia region and society in general, during of the International Day of the Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender, so that support LGBT groups demand that we be provided throughout the year and for the realization of social projects on behalf of sexual minorities .

With this call, COLLEAGUE MURCIA, you find that the normalization of the homosexual in society made the rides that transcends the occasion of June 28 held in major Spanish cities.

And it is that we seem wrong COLLEAGUE horseback riding, or the pen, nor the drag queens ...

We just believe that these carnivals do not help us in the struggle for social normalization of homosexuality because they generate messages and images that undermine the assertive acts of June 28.

In fact, these rides could be any day of the year without any links with the gay community, not to be confused with the date on which we commemorate the Stonewall riots and denounce human rights violations that continue to suffer the majority of lesbians, gays , bisexual and transgender people around the world.

At the same time COLLEAGUE seems inconceivable that some institutions to finance these carnivals with hundreds of thousands of euros "to support the gay community," squandering public money to appear more liberal than anyone.

And many people still confuse respect for diversity with sympathy for the extravagance or a certain stereotype.

Fight for our rights not to fund a ride, but go for projects of social transformation in the day to day.

This is the philosophy of men and women of colleagues who believe that the cove light rain gradually, while an afternoon shower destroys everything.

Following this maxim colleagues performed, for more than a decade, a normalization constant work 365 days a year, giving lectures at colleges and schools, supporting families, setting up information tables in towns and cities ... it is therefore a work only possible through the commitment of our database activistas-voluntarios/as, in collaboration with other associations and support of various public institutions, who appreciate not intend to challenge the organization as "riding gay."

With all this, and just as we do the rest of the year, MURCIA COLLEAGUE calls for a symbolic act to demand the decriminalization of homosexuality on Friday June 26th at 17h in the Plaza de Santo Domingo.
