The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, opened this afternoon (June 24) a street in tribute to the late Albatalía Paco Esteban.
The deal, approved by the Municipal Board in February, is the result of the desire of neighbors to keep alive the memory of "a person born, lived and died for and for the Albatalía."
The event was attended by the president of the Municipal Board, Jose Pardo, council of the Corporation and numerous relatives and friends of the honoree.
Francisco Esteban was born in this hamlet in 1941, in a family with deep roots vegetable garden and began his studies at the Jeronimos Monastery.
Married to Mary in 1968, was the father of three daughters, Maria Josefa, Maria Isabel and Rocio, who instilled the values of life and respect for others.
He followed his father, with his brother, created and managed "Canned Esteban", whose activity continues, a company dedicated to canned vegetables, especially peppers, Artichoke, peach and tomato, which generated hundreds of jobs La Albatalía.
Its products carried the name of this hamlet to the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Australia and virtually all of Europe.
Its business was perfectly complemented by the support that was provided to the events that took place in their locality, with special emphasis on the Holy Week, since he founded the Guild in the Parish of the Holy Family, which can be contemplate the image which he donated to the Church, the work of Liza.
Furthermore, throughout his career highlighted by his ongoing collaboration with the civic associations of the Albatalía.
Supported the business, as a member of the Association of Canners Murcia, and interest in equestrian sport led him to Prohípica Association of the Region.
