AV Space reviews the work of the group 'Affective Continuum' (24/06/2009)

The Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez, today presented the exhibition 'Affective Continuum, "which includes the work of a group of artists who produced under this name from 1985 to 1996 a series of objects characterized by a very personal language, medium somewhere between art and design.

The exhibition, which opens tomorrow in the AV space at 20:00, reviews and honors the work of the group during these years.

The group formed by Francisco Garcia and Antonio García Alcázar Jiménez won international importance "to the production of utilitarian objects capable of creating a relationship and / or communication with the viewer and / or user's past function.

Used emotion and usefulness as a basis for their work at between artistic and industrial creation, "said Martinez.

This exhibition, curated by Antonio García, shows a broad representation of the objects produced throughout the decade of the group and concluded with a video installation that has been made exclusively for the sample prologue and epilogue to exposure.

Creations that emerge from reflection on the relationship between art and design and to rethink the nature of objects and the need to combine utility and emotion.

The exhibition will remain open until 13 September and from 15 July to 31 August will be open during summer from 18:30 to 00:30 pm Tuesday to Sunday.
