The mayor of IU + Greens in Murcia, Esther Herguedas, said that "very few places for this purpose" in the town, although, according to a municipal ordinance, the municipality must enable areas in parks, gardens and squares for the spread of the animals.
"In many cases, owners are forced to break the rules with the need to run and exercise their dogs, especially as most of these animals may spend most of the day locked in small houses," he said.
