The Vice Chancellor of University Extension of the UCAM, Antonio Alcaraz, along with the rector of the University, Joseph Garcia and territorial president of Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martínez, presented this morning at the Cultural Hall of the CAM, the entertainment program, training, cultural, sports and volunteering for the 2009 edition of the Summer University, which takes place during the months of July, August and September in some thirty locations inside and outside Spain.

Peru, Italy, UK, Germany, Santiago de la Ribera, La Manga del Mar Menor, Cabo de Palos, or Guadalupe, are some of the venues that will host cultural activities, volunteering, leisure and free time during the UCAM summer.

A huge, by different degrees and university departments such as Law, CAFD, Tourism, Food Technology, Communication, Anthropology, Religious Studies and the Vice Chancellors of University Outreach and International Relations.

The offering includes courses in English and German in the United Kingdom and Germany, a labor camp in Peru, a European Youth Catholic University in Rome, a volunteer training course Jubilee in Caravaca, journalistic writing workshops and production radio, as well as specialized courses in Bioethics, Family Law, Civil and Labor, tourism, diving, climbing, hiking or canoeing.

Territorial President of Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martinez, said that "the CAM, which has always collaborated with the Catholic University in such initiatives, special interest supports the project of the Summer University."

For its part, the Vice Chancellor of University Extension, Antonio Alcaraz, said the fundamental objective of the Summer University, get the integral formation of students through their involvement in complementary activities that make them aware of what really happens to your around.

"The UCAM, such as Catholic University is, can not leave out the educational aspects related to volunteerism and social cooperation," he said.
