The Governing Council of the Autonomous Region adopted the Regulations of the University of Murcia for the use of video surveillance systems and imagery processing.
The regulation states that the installation of surveillance cameras is governed by the principle of proportionality, "so that means less intrusive employee the right to privacy to achieve the ends sought."
He adds that "the objective pursued by the University is security, preferring to leave that system and choosing to act as a deterrent, therefore, that these measures tend to avoid actions that undermine the social peace and security in buildings and university facilities."
The presence of video surveillance systems will be marked by information boards recommended by the Spanish Agency for Data Protection.
The installation must be authorized by resolution of the rector of the university.
