The Deputy Mayor of Education awards prizes to those selected in the categories of dance, music and composition
In order to promote respect, tolerance and understanding of other cultures, the Department of Education and crew, who heads Megía Pilar, has launched this school year a new activity, part of the "Education in values," and is focused on music.
The new business has wanted to stake out a theoretical-practical rediscovery of music to educate the little ones look as important as equality, friendship and love, encouraging the perception capabilities of the values found in art music and combining the differences in race, religion, sex and culture.
The program, aimed at students from the 1st and 2nd of ESO has been developing since last January and has consisted of two practice sessions: a talk about music, the differences and similarities between various world music and have highlighted the major events and festivals in peace, equality, friendship, respect and tolerance, the second session, which focused on live concerts that were held in schools that have requested the new program.
The total number of participants was 71 groups, 10 teachers and 425 students.
The program also provided for the development of a blog in which participating students hang their creations to then reward those students who have participated and have excelled over others.
Throughout the month of April, coinciding with the program's practices, there were seven concert "Sounds of Earth" at the Municipal Auditorium Cabezo Torres, six of which were aimed at students and one to the family and the general public.
Today, June 18 to mark the European Day of Music has taken place awards to the selected works in the categories of music, dance and composition, plus it also has held the concert "Music After Root ".
