The Department of Quality and Modernization of the Administration, led by Rafael Gómez, launches the third edition of "Ciudad de Murcia" Innovation in Information Technology and Communications Technologies (ICTs).
The aim of this competition is to promote the participation of Murcia in the Information Society, promoting the use of information technology and communications.
The prize is awarded in two categories, associations and individuals.
With the category of partnerships aims to promote the use of new technologies in the daily work of Murcia associations.
The five best ideas or projects of associations (cultural, women, youth, elderly, etc..) On the incorporation of new technologies will be rewarded with five computers each provided complete with the latest computer, a printer, scanner and other items such as webcam or pen.
In the two previous editions have been awarded women's associations, music, youth, sports, higher education and the projects presented describing the impact of Information Technology and Communications may incur in developing the activities of associations.
The second category, aimed at individual: physical, or linked to city residents, particularly value the originality of the project or idea, referring to technological improvements that apply to any field of public administration in relation to the citizen.
This arrangement aims to establish "a bridge to the Administration of the City of Murcia with citizens who wish to collaborate in improving governance."
Individuals in the category of the jury will choose a winner and a finalist.
The winner will receive a piece of sculpture, a full computer and up to 3,000 euros for carrying out the project and the finalist a laptop.
In previous editions were awarded a project of "tourist information stand-alone device, the one titled" digital memory of the city of Murcia and a "platform for maintenance, recovery and dissemination of Murcia traditions."
Murcia City Council through the Department of Quality and Modernization of the Administration also granted in each edition of the award a special mention to the institution Murcia that apply in their daily work and incorporate new information and communication technologies as fundamental support the development of its mission.
Have been previously granted special mentions for the ONCE Foundation and the Press Association of the Region of Murcia for their participation in numerous activities and projects related to new technologies, demonstrating their commitment to technological innovation.
The deadline for submitting applications is October 31, 2009.
