Murcia Plan was dedicated to the recovery of historical heritage of Murcia, has signed an agreement of sale which will allow the city soon enjoy an interesting piece regarding the history of economics in the Region of Murcia.
It is a bronze medal struck to mark the celebration of the Agricultural and Mining Exhibition 1882, a piece that, to date, belonged to a family of Murcia, and now can be enjoyed by everyone in the City Museum .
This important exhibition was inaugurated on September 1, 1882, coinciding with the start of the Feria de Murcia.
Was promoted by the Provincial Government, various municipalities of the province, official and private corporations.
It was inaugurated in the Romea Theatre by the Governor of the province Bauquelis Francisco.
The square was the venue for the exhibition, bringing together hundreds of visitors from different parts of Spain.
Latest developments
The statement was in that year to Murcia the latest advances in technology related to agriculture and mining.
Exposed samples of minerals and mining tools, lighting fixtures and even archaeological remains found in the mines of La Union.
Joining them were all the rage the presentation of a new artificial incubator chickens, a room dedicated to the breeding of silkworm and various steam devices, among which was an oil press.
So far, the city of Murcia had none of the few medals that were struck to commemorate this historic event.
Thanks to the donation made by Don Mariano Flores Benedict, the medal, which has been in his family for several generations, will occupy a prominent place in one of the showcases at the Museum of the City.
