The twelve members of Senior Centers in the north continue to enjoy free consultation Physiotherapy (10/06/2009)

The City holds its investments to offer the largest in the city getting more and better services to improve their quality of life.

The Governing Board has given approval to the award of Physiotherapy service centers over the northern zone of the municipality to Luis Alberto Ibáñez, with an investment of more than 17,000 euros.

Senior centers to continue providing this service are those of the head of Torres, Casillas, Churra, Espinardo, Javalí Viejo, Llano de Brujas, Monteagudo, La Ñora, Puebla de Soto, Bacons Bridge, La Raya and Zarandona.

The objectives of these consultations are:

Guidance of the older person to other socio-health resources.

Prevention and detection of problems of mobility and degenerative problems that cause deformities.

Assess and make treatment with physical therapy problems: joint pain, limited mobility, circulatory problems, problems resulting from osteoarthritis, etc.

Guidance on specific treatments of consequences that may result in pathological processes characteristic of the largest ...

In addition, courses and lectures will be held with the aim of:

Prevent health problems related to the movement.

Prevent injuries and their consequences such as pain and disability.

Develop therapeutic exercises to improve function.

The Department of Social Welfare, Gender Equality Policies and Citizenship in October 1996 provides this service for physiotherapy in a total of 40 Centres for the Elderly with the aim of promoting health and wellbeing of older people, and the keeping, restore or enhance an optimal level of autonomy or independence.
