The Church of Santo Domingo de Murcia becomes audience for baroque music with 'The Opera of the Jungle' (08/06/2009)

The Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez, today announced the concert the Orchestra and Chorus Urubichá 'Baroque Music of the Old Jesuit Missions of the Bolivian Chiquitanía.

The 'Chorus and Orchestra Urubichá' began in 1996 along the I Festival "Misiones de Chiquitos' in Bolivia.

At the same time organized the 'Comprehensive Training Institute Urubichá Choir and Orchestra', where children and young people can acquire eight years of average technician certificate in Music, majoring in an instrument.

The history of missions to the tradition of the violin between Guarayo people, and also that in the years 1910 to 1958 Urubichá existed in a band with 28 brass instruments and 7 strings.

The Choir and Orchestra has recorded four CDs: two 'Barroque Indien', with the French label K617, and two 'Baroque Chiquitano - Che Ru Tupa'.

The program includes the Sonata No. XIII of Giovanni Battista Sammartini (Chiquitos Musical Archive), the anonymous San Ignacio, La Selva Opera, Opera de los Indios Chiquitos Music Archive Music Archive and Moxos, for 5 soloists, choir and orchestra, Sonata No. IX of Ignacio Balbi, Chiquitos Musical Archive, and the Gloria et honore of Jan Josef Ignac Brentner, Moxos Music Archive.
