The first comprehensive center for cystic fibrosis in El Palmar Spain serves 125 families (03/06/2009)

The Mayor, accompanied by several council members of Team, have been joined to the "photo solidarity" sponsored by the Association of Cystic Fibrosis Murcia to boost organ donation and raise public awareness of the importance of Murcia.

The event, organized in conjunction with the celebration of National Organ and Tissue Donor "means our support and our commitment to all patients and their families because we can all work together to correct and improve the quality of life for all people" , said House.

Cystic fibrosis is a chronic disease that today has no cure and affects mostly the lungs, kidneys, liver and heart.

Therefore, the Association Against Cystic Fibrosis Murcia has more than 10 years campaigning to raise awareness and mentalizing society about the importance of donating organs.

This year for the second time, this group, chaired by Maria José Plana, has organized the "picture of solidarity" in various agencies and institutions to promote organ donation.

Plana recalled the opening last October of the first national center for cystic fibrosis in Spain, located in El Palmar, which provides comprehensive care to 125 families in the region in which this disease is present.

Next to the Mayor and the president of the association, participated in the "photo solidarity" on behalf of the Government Team Government team councilors Fulgencio Cervantes, Adela Martinez-Cacho, Remigio Lopez, Lola Sanchez, Maria Isabel Valcarcel, Pilar Megía and Maria del Carmen Pelegrin.
