The conference "A veterinarian in Antarctica 'opens the series' The Wednesday Scientists' College of Veterinary (03/06/2009)

In order to address current issues of interest to the veterinary group, the College of Veterinarians of the Murcia Region has launched the series 'The Wednesday Scientists', which will begin in the afternoon, June 3 , and to be held the first Wednesday of each month.

The first session is payable by the veterinarian and professor of the Department of Toxicology, University of Murcia (UMU), Motas Miguel Guzman, who will discuss their recent research experience in the frozen continent.

Thus, 'A veterinarian in Antarctica.

Stay and research experience 'is the title of the inaugural session to be held in the hall of the college institution after 19:30.

Michael Pilling has been over two months in Antarctica working on a project of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, within the Spanish Antarctic campaign 2008-2009.

The study found measurable levels of contaminants in this continent, where there is greater human presence, as well as a decrease in penguin population.

According to the president of the college institution, Fulgencio Fernández Buendía, it is "an interesting initiative that comes to reflect the commitment of the College for further training of their members"

The call is open, so you can turn anyone who is interested.

Following the conference will open a conference that, surely, will delve into the issues raised by Professor Pilling Guzmán.
