Award for the best athletes in the UCAM (02/06/2009)

The judoka fifth place finisher in the Olympic Games in Beijing, Leire Iglesias, has been one of the awards

The Gala XI UCAM Sport has this week the finishing touch to a brilliant season that has been at the Catholic University of Murcia as one of the first powers of the national medal from over 70 universities.

The judoka, Leire Iglesias, fifth place finisher in the Olympic Games in Beijing, received an award for her gold medal in the Championship of Spain university in the form of less than 70kg. That made him stand for the second consecutive year as Champion of Spain in their discipline.

The most anticipated award show was the award for Best Athlete of the Year is awarded to the athlete or athletes who have shown sporting and human values relevant to the University.

The Catholic University held a special tribute during the Gala LLopis Beatriz Rodriguez, the former president of the Volleyball Federation of Murcia Region for 22 years, died recently.
