The educational program "Equal parts: things both" ends with the participation of more than 1,100 students (01/06/2009)

The launch of the new "Equal parts: Two Things" Values Education program has completed this course with the participation of a total of 1,156 students in 12 schools in the municipality.

It should be noted that these activities fall within the Plan for Equal Opportunities between men and women of the City of Murcia, which aims to coordinate measures to promote equal opportunities in formal education system.

The format of each workshop is organized in five sessions of one hour each, involving the students, teams, counselors, tutors and parents of students who are targeted in the activity.

Two sessions for teachers and parents, information and evaluation, and three sessions with the students to work practically with the presence of a teacher or tutor group leader.

For dynamic content to work in each of the thematic units rests with reference materials.

The program's objectives are:

Analyze the hidden curriculum that underlies the teaching-learning processes, identifying discriminatory elements.

Promote equality as a value in the maturation and psicoevolutivo of children.

Provide technical, specific strategies and activities that allow reflection on the concepts related to gender equality.

Sensitize the students in education for equality in the context of values education.

Promote actions aimed at the entire educational community based on equality of opportunity to consolidate the foundations towards a more just and more caring.

Awareness of gender differences and gender through the division of labor and equal rights.

Teachers transmit democratic forms of tolerance in their interactions with students.
