Agents of the Police Headquarters of Murcia belonging to St. Andrew Station have conducted a police operation that has resulted in the arrest of two persons, who were responsible for committing numerous thefts of motorcycle helmets, trunks, jackets and other effects, carried out between January and May this year.

The investigations began after the detection of a series of criminal acts that revealed the accumulation of theft of helmets, bags, jackets and other equipment, motorcycles parked on the streets of our city.

The analysis of these facts showed that the circumstances and modus operandi of all these subtractions were very similar and that seemed to indicate that it might be a same author or group of authors and obey the same criminal purpose.

For this reason, researchers know the use by criminal organizations, certain Internet services dedicated to the sale of second-hand objects, by which these groups could distribute material obtained through the commission of crimes, investigation focused on two sites, where they were on sale a number of items whose descriptions and photographs coincided with the fruits of certain theft committed in our city.

Modus operandi

The modus operandi was as follows:

After subtracting the material inside the bags of motorcycles parked in the street, using different types of tools or instruments designed for it, taking photographs of the abducted, was assigned a price and these photographs were placed on certain web pages , along with some information for those interested could contact the seller.

Once agreed the operation in this way, the products were shipped to buyers by courier companies.

After performing the appropriate steps, it was informed that the main cause of these events was MPV, a 23-year-old Spanish national, with many records of crimes against property.

After checking all the front ends, last on May 8 held a measure entry and search of the residence which was investigated in Murcia.

During such registration were arrested RARJ both MPV and wife of 25 years, Bolivian nationals, which were made available to the examining magistrate in Murcia Guard functions.

19 helmets, 8 motorcycle trunks, 13 pairs of gloves, 4 motorcycle jackets, 4 pants, waterproof, 15 sunglasses, GPS devices, digital cameras, USB memory, a dummy gun, a katana, National Identity Document number people, insurance documents, receipts for ITV, registration certificates, cards and books of financial institutions, book keeping, etc.

Objects and tools for the commission of the offenses:

Trunk lock parts, motorcycle levers, sets of keys and rods and other tools useful for opening locks.

Documentation of the events under investigation:

Supporting the sale of goods offered on the Internet and mailings of the same, postal receipts and records of the amounts obtained by selling the stolen objects, or even the anticipation of committing theft in the near future and estimated benefit from them.

Some effects have already been returned to their rightful owners, while the rest are placed in police custody, in order to carry out actions to be traced to their owners and hand them the same.

The objects are stolen and recovered in the Commissariat of National Police of San Andrés.
