The UCAM criminologists and received their diplomas (23/05/2009)

The hall of the Jeronimos Monastery, home of the San Antonio Catholic University, was the scene this morning of the emotional ceremony and diploma scholarships to students in the seventh Promotion of Higher Diploma in Criminology, the UCAM.

The graduation ceremony was chaired by University President, José Luis Mendoza, accompanied by the renowned criminal lawyer and director of the diploma, José María Caballero, and the Dean of the College of Lawyers of Murcia, Francisco Martínez-Escribano, who served except as a sponsor of the new criminologists.

José María Caballero congratulated the new professionals were encouraged to work with rigor and humanity, contributing to the profession's ethical values permeate the spirit of the UCAM, and proposed to continue with their education, and capitalize on the advantages offered by the new catalog of undergraduate and graduate degrees available through Bologna.

Knight explained that "the multidisciplinary nature of criminology studies, necessarily carries with it a need for continuous updating, which can only be achieved after the training."

The reading of names of students corresponded to the teacher, Juan José Nicolás, while teaching Angeles López, served as Honorary Professor.

Next, the student representative, Maria de los Angeles Moreno, addressed the attendees a solemn speech before the intervention, the sponsor of the promotion, Francisco Martínez-Escribano.

The Dean of Lawyers of Murcia, had words of affection for the UCAM, highlighted the positive presence of Christian Humanism in the study of Criminology of the Catholic and reminded that both the law and criminology share a common vocation of service to society.

"Your work as criminologists, not infrequently linked to the most deprived social strata, must be imbued with ethical and Christian values that I have taught here."

For his part, President of the University, José Luis Mendoza, said the Justice and Law as supreme demonstrations of God's love, and asked the new professionals of criminology, research, always pursue the common good and become instruments of peace and harmony.
