49 enforcement actions against illegal immigration networks and protection of the rights of foreign citizens in the first quarter of 2009 (20/05/2009)

Provincial Brigade of the Alien and Border Police Headquarters of Murcia, has been carried out during the first quarter of this year a total of 49 performances, designed to combat crime related to illegal immigration cooperation and promotion the same protection and rights of foreign citizens residing in our region.

Actions on have led to the arrest of 117 people involved in the crimes described above, and others related to them, such as falsehoods documentary, drug trafficking, crimes related to prostitution or against the law on aliens.

These operations have allowed fully dismantle organized criminal plots, including those dedicated to the celebration of marriages of convenience, by which members of organized groups profited by offering bogus marriages processing, intended for administrative adjustments fraudulent.

Also prominently operations aimed at the dismantling of organizations dedicated to prostitution, which have allowed, among other results, close down four brothels where he carried out actions of sexual and labor exploitation of foreign citizens.

As for the falsehoods documentary highlights the elucidation of numerous frauds carried out by filing documents in administrative offices simulated in order to generate documentation legitimized by the Administration.

For advice or assistance in these procedures, the number of organized criminal networks earn revenue, even despite the ineffectiveness of their efforts.

In addition to these actions, we have clarified other crimes such as drug trafficking, illegal weapons possession, conspiracy or fraud, that appear frequently linked to the activities of these groups.

Among the 117 detainees, most represented nationalities are Morocco (28) and Spain (18), followed by Algeria (11), Nigeria (9), Pakistan (10) and India (8).

The fight against these organized groups is a priority for the Police Headquarters of Murcia, due to the diversity of manifestations criminal conduct and serious assault that these pose to the rights of foreign citizens residing in our region.
