Sensitize young people in the municipality of Murcia through the promotion of volunteerism, giving them the opportunity to participate for three months in development cooperation activities in poor countries is one of the priority objectives of the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation who run Lola Sanchez and Remigio Lopez, in the Municipal Youth Plan Cooperation Volunteers 2009.
It seeks to foster a culture of solidarity and the values of coexistence, tolerance, participation and intercultural learning, if indeed an enriching experience for young people.
All this is possible thanks to the collaboration of local NGOs, which will be hosting the participants and integrate them into projects that run on the outside. It is important to emphasize the responsibility of the ten young people assume that, beyond learning process will experience, actually collaborate in the draft agreement and acquiring their professional profile by providing professional experience and also the most personal level.
Municipal Youth Plan Cooperation Volunteers 2009 (launched last year) seeks the involvement of young volunteers to help in international cooperation projects for development, undertaken by the NGO Development in collaboration with the Municipality of Murcia.
These cooperative actions are performed in less developed countries, and thus, facilitate knowledge "in situ" of these actions.
The destinations are countries that develop projects implemented through NGOs Murcia, whose projects are detailed in the announcement.
Young people interested in working on these projects must meet the following requirements:
May enroll in this program persons who satisfy the following profiles completed at the time of completion deadline and instances.
Be registered in the Municipality of Murcia prior to January 1, 2009.
Be between 21 and 30 years of age.
To participate as a young volunteer for cooperation in areas where Spanish is spoken, is an indispensable requisite proof of knowledge of other languages spoken in the host location (mainly English and French).
The registration period will open on Tuesday, May 12 and runs until Monday, May 25.
The schedule for submitting applications for the registration period from 10:00 to 14:00, Monday to Friday and Monday and Wednesday from 17:30 to 19:30.
This year, thanks to the success of the previous program and good advertising by the participants, is expected to exceed the number of candidates who may participate in projects in Bolivia, Paraguay, Angola, Morocco, Togo, Guatemala, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador and Peru during the months of July, August and September.
