The Archaeological Museum displays from tomorrow pieces from 23 museums that illustrate the eroticism in Roman Hispania (05/05/2009)

The Director of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón, today presented the exhibition "Sex and Eroticism: Rome in Hispania 'which opens tomorrow at 20:00 am and will remain in the temporary exhibition hall of the Archaeological Museum of Murcia to on 5 July.

The 85 pieces in the sample come from 23 national museums, among which is the National Roman Museum in Merida, the National Archaeological Museum and the Archaeological Museum of Tarragona, among others.

Moreover, there are parts of the regional archaeological museums Alhama de Murcia, Jumilla, Cartagena, Cehegín, Aguilas, Lorca and Murcia.

All this "can offer a unique set with some pieces never before exhibited in public," said the CEO.

The exhibition has been produced by the Community and presents the various aspects of sex and eroticism ancient and that "attempts to show intimate and less known aspects of the Roman era," said Ujaldón.

"It continued," this show adds to the previous 'Leisure and pleasure in Pompeii', with which it seeks to inform the public those areas not as well known in antiquity. "

'Sex and Eroticism: Rome in Hispania' is divided into three sections: the first as a starting point, focusing on the historical stage pre-Roman, Iberian, called 'Sex and Fertility: In anticipation of Rome', and the following two sections are the truly dedicated to the Roman civilization and its presence in Hispania: "The gods love is also divine 'and' Men: Sex without sin."

The show is scheduled to tour other Spanish cities following displayed in Murcia.

On the occasion of the exhibition is accompanied by a catalog with records of all parts and texts Uroz Hector, Ana María Vázquez, José Miguel Noguera and Antonio Poveda.
