The Department of Youth and Employment of the City of Murcia has attended between 16 and 19 April 2009, at the International Seminar on Youth Policy in municipal governments.
Invited by the city of Oporto (Portugal), attended the seminar fourteen delegations from cities on the European continent, among which are some very important as Liverpool (UK), Cologne (Germany), Belfast (Ireland) and Bordeaux (France) as well as Madrid and Barcelona.
In addition to representatives of political and technical level of the Department of Youth and Employment of the City of Murcia, have attended the seminar the representatives of the Youth Association "Onda Nave", the Local Youth Council of Murcia and the Local Energy Agency and Climate Change.
From three working groups made up of elected representatives, technicians and young respectively, addressed important topics of youth work through municipal policies.
Among the objectives of the seminar is to create a database document local youth policies.
The participation of the city of Murcia in this seminar is to include it in a future Network of Cities to agree local youth policies from its members.
Achieving these objectives is a boon to European programs and youth exchanges and youth participation in the municipality of Murcia.
