A professor at the University of Murcia recommend using a digital dental radiology (20/04/2009)

The reduction of the doses administered to patients in dental radiology could be achieved by a digital system, according to one of the conclusions of the study conducted by Professor Miguel Alcaraz Baños, the area of Radiology and Physical Medicine of the University of Murcia.

The work of Professor Alcaraz Baños, published by the University (EDITUM) states that "the incorporation of the rules of quality control in diagnostic radiology has achieved a 29 percent reduction in the doses administered to the patient during the seven years studied. "

He adds that this reduction could be used over a digital dental radiology.

It also states that "reports of official quality control should collect performance data that allow us to assess radiological work habits and the establishment of standards or quality assurance programs in diagnostic radiology."

On the other hand, suggested a change in the structure of training courses for managers and operators of dental radiology, "making them closer to the dental business practice and providing practical physical concepts on dental radiological image and influencing aspects of clinical diagnosis. "
