Fire and Civil Protection are prepared to ensure safety during the Burial of the Sardine (17/04/2009)

As in previous years, effective Fire and Civil Defence volunteers have also developed a special action plan in order to conclude the day of the Burial of the Sardine, one of the acts of the Spring Festival which brings a greater amount of people in the streets of the city of Murcia.

In the case of Civil Protection, the activities to be undertaken by volunteers during the various events will focus on support and collaboration with local police in preventive work, citizen information, location of missing children, help the elderly, health assistance (first aid), among others.

Regarding Fire, plus staff is normally on duty at all three fire stations (Infante, Espinardo and San Ginés), the Department of Fire Fighting and Rescue Murcia City Council intends to strengthen the service for all holidays .

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 18, the day of the Burial of the Sardine, 12:00 to 15:00 will be assembled in the Plaza Circular device for launching a fireworks Tronaera a total of four effective.
