The Socialist Party calls for Planning to undertake a comprehensive analysis of South Mountain (15/04/2009)

Councilman Mark Ros Socialist Group has applied this morning the government team, to instruct technicians Town Planning in-depth analysis of the status of land and houses near hillsides, across the South Mountain range, from El Palmar to Los Ramos, to ensure safety and provide reassurance to residents of the foothills of the Sierra.

During the last month, recalls Ros, have already produced two episodes of falling rocks and land that have hit homes in the vicinity of the southern Cordillera.

So a few weeks ago, says the socialist mayor, Torreagüera were some neighbors who were falling rocks from the mountains to their very homes.

The incident happened this morning near San Antonio el Pobre, La Alberca, in addition to the above, and regardless of the particularities of the incident today, says Ros, may indicate a state of Sierra different from other years especially rainfall that has increased this year.

A global analysis.

That is why the municipal PSOE would be necessary to study in depth the status of all the slopes of the mountains, from El Palmar to Los Ramos, checking both the stability of the ground with the support of the rains, as the existence of loose rock.

In the same study, continues Ros, should include an inspection of those buildings that remain on the slopes of the mountains, carry some element of earth retention (retaining walls) to check its condition.

Peace and security for residents.

Finally, Ros believes that this study and measures (if they were necessary), provide great comfort to all inhabitants of the houses adjacent to the southern slopes of the Cordillera.
