Murcia adheres to "Earth Hour" (27/03/2009)

Several municipal buildings keep the lights off from 20:30 to 21:30 hours

"Earth Hour 2009" is a global initiative by WWF to mobilize society and remember the important role it can play in actively combating climate change.

The main objective of the campaign is to obtain the support of one billion citizens, municipalities, businesses and institutions, representing the largest global participation event ever staged.

From the Local Agency for Energy and Climate Change (German) calls all morning from Murcia to Saturday, March 28, join the global initiative "Earth Hour 2009."

To help spread the massive initiative among the citizens of the town thanks to information provided by the Municipal Network MUPIS

The outage will begin at 20:30 and runs over an hour.

In Spain have joined the main cities and major world capitals.

Murcia City Council has joined this initiative and tomorrow from 20:30 to 21:30 hours the lights will remain one of the most important monuments of Murcia, Monteagudo Christ, and the following municipal buildings:

Local Development Agency.

Centro Cultural de La Alberca.

Library Cabezo de Torres.

Youth Centre La Nave.

Yesqueros Youth Center.
