Virginia Martinez will lead the Orchestra FIOJ International University of Murcia (26/03/2009)

The Virginia molinense Martinez lead the XXVIII International Festival Orchestra International Youth Orchestra 2009 (FIOJ 2009), whose innovations were presented at a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Rector of the University of Murcia.

The Festival, organized by the University of Murcia, will for this edition, which will run from March 30 to April 4, with a total of eleven bands.

Of these, five are from outside the Region of Murcia, Malaga and specifically the countries of Georgia, Holland, Ireland and Israel.

The orchestra will give concerts at various locations throughout the Region, particularly in White, Eagles, Cartagena, Lorca, Ceuta, Cehegín, Yecla, Beniaján, Cabeza de Torres, El Palmar, Guadalupe and La Alberca, and the Auditorio "Victor Villegas", where The Festival will conclude with a concert offering the International Orchestra of Schubert.

Alongside the concerts, there will be auditions in different places of the city of Murcia, with the novelty of which will be offered in the facade of the Palacio Episcopal, as announced by the festival director, José Antonio Clemente Buhlal.

In the presentation also presented the prize in the design of the image for the Festival, which went to Pablo Giménez Navarro.

The general director of the Community Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez López, stressed the "robustness" of a contest that is now in its 28th edition, while the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, expressed his satisfaction that with these concerts, "the University meets with one of its roles, the organization and promotion of cultural activities. "
