"The citizen selects PP waste and the piles in the City" say from the PSOE (25/03/2009)

Note from PSOE:

The Socialist councilor Alfonso Navarro claims that the collection remains a pending municipal government and has important shortcomings: the same number of workers since 2006, a shortage of containers in the heart of the city, low frequency of collection, significant decrease in collection of paper, and the hamlets, tracks and roads, not even get this service

Selected citizens, for example, cardboard, avoiding depositing organic waste containers and services of the Municipality of Murcia picks it up and poured into organic garbage trucks and not those for selective waste.

This is the complaint made at a press conference today the mayor Alfonso Navarro Socialist Group who stated that under the facts, "the collection remains an unresolved and has important shortcomings."

Equal numbers of workers in 2006

Highlight, for example, highlights Navarro, freezing during the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 the number of workers that the company concessionaire of the service for the treatment of solid waste and recycled materials are treated in the landfill and Cañada Hermosa maintained since 2006 at 59, 26 of whom are drivers from the same date.

Shortage of containers and infrequently

Also, Councilman PSOE complaint, lack of recycling containers in the center of the city, the collection frequency is so low, given the very limited human and material resources, that containers do not provide sufficient capacity to that citizens can deposit the residues.

Significant decrease in the collection of paper

Similarly, there is virtually no review service collection at most of the city and in the districts, especially the board, only occurs in certain areas of town.

So much so, says Socialist councilor, the trend of collection of paper in 2008 decreased 50 percent over 2007, increasing from 1,000 tonnes to be produced in 2007, last year dropped to 500 tons.

The hamlets, again the forgotten ones

The hamlets, lanes and paths of the garden, continues Navarro, however inhabit or pass they are, have no access to waste collection.

In addition, the hulls of the districts not only a shortage of such containers on existing routes, but there is still a lack of collection routes.

Full motion

Therefore, Navarro defended a motion in the plenary of the PP which pose the following questions:

Establish and / or extend the service review of collection in the city and districts, especially the cardboard.

Expand the provision of recycling containers in the city.

Larger collection routes in rural districts, also increasing the number of containers.

Provide collection service lanes and paths to the garden.
