Murcia hosts the final of the European Science Olympiad involving students from 21 countries (25/03/2009)

The University of Murcia on Saturday will host from the final tests of the European Science Olympiad, which involved 120 students of 1 high school and 80 teachers from 21 countries.

The region thus becomes the first Spanish headquarters of the end of this international competition, whose medals will be presented on April 4 in the General Archive of the Region of Murcia.

Throughout the week, units of the University of Murcia will serve as a venue for experimental laboratory tests, in which each team will conduct experiments on three subjects: Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

All tests will be supervised by the Chair of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Murcia.

Finally, Sotoca expressed the belief of the regional government on the usefulness of these initiatives, which in its view, constitute an incentive for scientific study that may influence later development of R & D.
