During the month of March, the Social Screening Service and Volunteerism, in collaboration with FUNDOWN, organized at the University of Murcia, the campaign "Shared Housing: Independent know differently."
This is an initiative of Fundown that defends the rights of people with intellectual disabilities to have more control over their own lives, through integration into the community in which they live.
To this end, the Foundation has a network of homes in Murcia, in which people living with disabilities and students from the University of Murcia to perform the role of mediator, additionally, as a counterpart, the possibility of free accommodation in Murcia .
Objectives:
Understand the Shared Housing Initiative as part FUNDOWN Services and from the regulation establishing the University, through the Specific Agreement of Cooperation between both entities
Know and analyze the psychoeducational model proposed by the School of Life and in particular the Shared Housing, to promote autonomy and independence for people with intellectual disabilities.
Analyzing the figures of mediation within the psychoeducational model of the School of Life-Mediator, support and friend.
Knowing, from the hand of their real stars (parents, youth with disabilities, young people without disabilities, students ...), their life experiences after their stay training in shared housing.

Faculty of Education
Closing the campaign will be making the " Conference on Shared Housing to People with Intellectual Disabilities ", which will take place on 30 and 31 March 2009 in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Education in the afternoon.
