The 37 candidates for the Senior Queen 2009 share breakfast with the mayor before starting their journey of living in Cartagena (06/03/2009)

The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, attended this morning at a breakfast organized by the Federation of Senior Citizens' Centres in the Municipality of Murcia, where the candidates have been submitted to Senior Queen 2009.

In this new edition, there were 37 candidates, associated with senior centers in their respective districts.

Next to the mayor and candidates for election, attended the meeting were Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Policy and Equality, María del Carmen Pelegrin, and the President of the Federation of Senior Centers, Simon Parraga Martinez.

After breakfast, which took place at Hotel Siete Coronas Murcia, candidates and members of the Federation of Senior Centers have moved to Cartagena to share a day of sharing that includes a visit to the Teatro Romano and a fellowship meal after the interviews be conducted by the jury candidates.

Choosing Senior Queen 2009 and her four maids of honor will be held on March 20, during a dinner to be held at La Bacons Bridge Tower.

From that date, and throughout the year, the five will be protagonists of the events arranged by the largest in the municipality, whether festivals, cultural weeks, etc..

The Federation, legally established in 1987, currently has a total of 64 senior centers associated, all belonging to the municipality of Murcia.

With this new edition, there are now thirteen years since the Federation of Senior Centers of Murcia has organized this day of living to name the Queen and her ladies.
