Note from PSOE:
The Socialist councilor Alfonso Navarro claims that the tax motor vehicles (IVTM), payment of which began yesterday, experienced a rise of 4.5 percent in 2009, representing an increase over the Consumer Price Index 2008 of 300 percent
The Socialist councilor Alfonso Navarro said that "absolutely unpresentable that in these times of economic hardship for families in the municipality of Murcia and the crisis that started in the automotive and transportation, the PP in La Glorieta, far from providing solutions and responses to citizens; aggravate their economies with excessive increases in council tax.
An increase of 300%
In this case, says Navarro, the tax of motor vehicles (IVTM), which began to be charged yesterday, experienced a rise of 4.5% in 2009, representing an increase over the CPI for 2008 of 300 percent .
The Consumer Price Index 2008, Navarro points, closed with a 1.4 percent rise, and there is a forecast for 2009 puts the CPI below 1 percent.
This crazy car tax rise, warns the mayor of the PSOE, limit wage increases for workers from Murcia, a rise that, in addition, to discriminate against citizens, business concerns in the automotive sector, the self-employed and farmers.
In all these vehicles (trucks, tractors, buses), this tax also experienced an increase three times the CPI.
"Nice way to encourage this consumer and business", criticizes Navarro.
Thus, in the case of trucks than 4,999 kilos of payload passed to pay a tax of EUR 151.27 in 2008 to € 247.75 in 2009, representing a net increase of 63.7% IVTM.
The same is true, highlights the Socialist councilor, with buses over 50 seats will also experience an increase of 63%.
Therefore, the Socialist Group is calling for the PP in the city of Murcia, beyond the demagoguery, adjust, at least, rates and taxes to the actual evolution of the pockets of citizens is reflected in the CPI.
