The UCAM pay tribute to victims of terrorism for the Conference on Volunteering (23/02/2009)

San Antonio Catholic University (UCAM) has organized the Eighth International Conference on Charities and Volunteers, under the theme "Reconciliation and Hope."

The conference, which will be launched on 25 February, will take place at Jeronimos Monastery, seat of the UCAM, Murcia, in Madrid, until 8 March.

During the event, will also develop the sample of volunteers in the Paseo Alfonso X el Sabio (Murcia) until 1 March.

The director of the International Institute of Charity and Volunteer Juan Pablo II (IICV), Antonio Alcaraz, will coordinate the conference.

Between acts, featured a tribute to the victims of terrorism to be held in Congress next March 2.

Opening the conference will be held on 25 February by a Mass starting at 10.00 hours in the temple of Jeronimos, and officiate Archbishop Paul Josef Cordes, president of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum.

During the conference many religious activities take place and solidarity to be attended by leading authorities of the University, along with numerous civil and religious personalities.

In this regard, a meeting was held with the Victims of Terrorism in the Congress of Deputies, 24 hours a Day for Peace, and will visit the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Spain, among other acts.

On the other hand involve, through lectures on hope and charity, the chief rabbi of the Jewish community in Madrid, Bendaham Moses, the director of Aid to the Church in Need in Spain, Javier Menendez, and the delegate of the Moscow Patriarchate, Archpriest Aleksandr Borisov, among other distinguished speakers.
