The abattoir and wholesale markets of fruits and vegetables and fish Mercamurcia have obtained ISO 14001:2004 certification.
To obtain this certification, attesting to proper environmental management, the company has had to improve aspects such as water purification and waste management.
At present, the Food Unit has reached near zero discharge, the resulting water derive their activity, once refined for use in irrigation of some local nurseries palm trees, wastes are in the Food Unit 90% recycled, using a portion of them for animal feed or composting through the worm.
We have also installed four solar photovoltaic power plants of 100 KVA each, which will produce 620,000 kwh (which is equivalent to 20% of the energy consumed in the company).
This new certification is added to the ISO 9001 for Quality Management has Mercamurcia since 2002.
