Carnival of Beniaján
Unique in the Region!
There is a beautiful heart
as we all appreciate,
under every disguise.
Mascaritas mysterious
arise between lemon.
While the groups
make streets and squares,
with street musicians and chirigotero
Authorities Grace, president of Carnival, Muses, ladies and gentlemen, first of all good night.
I have been called to proclaim the Carnival Beniaján, intimate event that will soon turn its silver anniversary as a celebration organized.
More Carnival is an event that is rooted in the hearts of the residents of this town a long time ago, when arrivals during Carnival, people took to the streets and having fun, donning masks and happy surprise.
Then came the era of former agricultural Casino, which is organized evenings beautiful and attractive costumes.
But before proceeding with my speech, I congratulate Chirigota components of their success on land Beniaján Cadiz.
Up three times to the public at the Teatro Falla, is a milestone, especially for a group that has just nine years, but yes, brimming wit and talent.
Good luck for the future, the group led by Javier Sanchez, and my congratulations on the Chirigotas Contest which this year celebrates its sixth anniversary.
The competition is already stomping event in its own right and in the festival program in the region.

Therefore, and from here, I join the petition, and processed, that will soon enjoy Carnival Beniaján recognition of Regional Tourist Interest, because they really deserve it, because its neighbors and especially their association Carnival have worked with strength and ingenuity to get it.
I also thank Maria Eugenia Sanchez, the president of your carnival, which has relied on my humble person to proclaim the event.
My only merits are that they followed, year after year, the evolution of your Carnival, reporting through the Truth of your daily progress of your art in the show, and how the seed grows and prospers carnival around here South Coast
Touting means to make known something that may come to know everyone.
Well try to fulfill that mission, throwing to the winds the quality of your shows.
And the greatness of your heart, sharing the joy of these days with people in other places near or far, because everyone there is a place Beniajan, and their Carnival celebrations.
These days, everyone who comes to town is welcome, and may prove crumbs or preparing pans in the streets, as part of the holiday as well bask in the occurrences of the carnival parades, or enjoy watching the grace with which, young and old alike, wear their costumes lavish parades.
Because children have an important role in Beniaján Carnival, they are the quarry, the present and the future of the local carnival.
Here we have the child Musa, the little Marina Marín, ready to conquer the entire audience, with his troupe The Yayais.
And children Beniaján colleges, which together with their teachers and mothers, nice din carnival parade.
Like the beautiful Esther Albaladejo, your young and exceptional Musa -2009, also belonging to a group of high carnival roots, the favorite, always ready to surprise everyone with their wonderful costumes.
Surely you are humming the feet of members of the troupe's favorites, the oldest Beniaján Carnival, and the Las Chulis, following the ladder of seniority.
And the girls of Bollo Tierno.
The groups carnival are already well known outside this village, they participate regularly in regional events, leaving the flag high carnival of Beniaján
I do not forget the CM-64, from the exotic, or many other illustrious names in local parades of Carnival, which would be long to name here and now, but I have very present and whose choreography and clever costumes are gaining prestige from year to year.
The word carnival is derived from the Italian word Carnevalare, which means removing the meat, its connotation to the Lenten worship served by gantry cranes.
Although its origins as a festival, comes from pagan worship to Momo, god of the joke and laugh very popular in ancient Rome.
Carnival as we know it today was born in the Middle Ages, as a cry of freedom from the rigors of Lent and rooted so deeply in the village, which has been maintained over time, despite prohibitions stages, as there were in the reigns of Charles I, Philip II, and the Franco era past.
Beniaján has been one of the locations in which its neighbors, wasting talent, have kept alive the tradition of Carnival against all odds.
Dressed in masks, hiding his face, distorting his voice, went through the old local neighborhoods, like La Tana, to play tricks on his friends and enjoying a happy crazy days, before entering the rigors of Lent.
I'm going up to the first decades of the twentieth century, when Beniaján see off its economy and a population becomes very successful, with several industries from agriculture.
By then, the river is channeled Guadalentín the Reguerón channel, in an attempt to tame it, to avoid flooding the garden, this celebration of turbulent water.
These improvements led to the growth of the population, and the inauguration in 1923 of the Agricultural Casino on Main Street.
Institution happened in 1931 to occupy the building of the former Civil Guard barracks, rebuilt in a stately building, which remained standing until the 90's, from the entity for mayor, while in the solar street Escribano Fabian, former sidewalk, where it had stood the new headquarters Agricultural Casino iconic looks today, bearing witness to the past.
The Agricultural Casino said it was an important driver of local culture.
It organized several evenings, including fun fancy dress balls, in which Beniaján neighbors lived a period of splendor.
Imitating the Carnival to be held at the Casino de Murcia, more affluent families came looking beautiful fancy carnival costumes, while the common people maintained the custom of dressing up and mascara to let off steam in the streets, pouring joy and wit.
Everything is and was, allowed Carnival.
Also organized at the Casino, musical evenings, because music as cultural expression is important in any life event.
Just this year, your program has included a Carnival Bands concert, which also listening to the masters of Eagles, your excellent musical group, which awards many treasures, has offered a wonderful recital.
So with the music, has been reinforced culturally Carnaval your wonderful program, which, sure, will soon have the recognition of Regional Tourist Interest, to continue growing for other awards, and other goals, because Beniaján and its people is what deserve.
Especially that have long been working with zeal and rigor to achieve.
