United Left Councilmember + Greens Murcia City Council requests the revision of the draft reform of the Garden of Barrio de Los Rosales (13/02/2009)

Note from IU + LV:

In a letter to the Town Planning Councillor, Fernando Berberena, Herguedas asking for a review of the proposed redevelopment of the garden of the roses began to run, with the construction of several bocce courts, on Thursday amid the expectation and the contrary opinion neighbors.

The mayor calls for its replacement with one that meets the needs of the neighborhood.

The bowling area is located in the only place to land and trees in the garden, the place occupied by the playground and just a few meters from the nursery school attached to the CCAA attended by children from 0 to 3 years.

This has caused an upset in the neighborhood logic, then no neighbor in the neighborhood playing bocce and yet the child population is abundant.

Also, the location within the garden is quite unfortunate since it occupies an area of transition from very young children who are at risk of tripping over curbs constructed and fall into pits bowls and will develop an activity that does not seem compatible with children be crossed, getting through ... all without the unedifying example which is a group of people who a few meters from the nursery will be talking loudly, swearing, spitting, smoking and drinking.

To all this must be added that the group of bowls already have conditioning other spaces in town.

The main problem stems from the project has been made without taking into account the contributions that have made the neighbors based on their knowledge of the needs of the neighborhood.

We further recall that at this time, the Neighborhood Association and other organizations working in the area meet regularly with municipal representatives as agreed by the full City Council in October 2008 as a result precisely of the motion presented by IU + LV.

Therefore Herguedas asked to review the project so that it can meet the needs of the neighborhood avoiding further conflict.
